COURSE STYLE

Our Management Development Programme is an interactive and enjoyable training session, with plenty of opportunity for discussion and practise.

We will use (with your permission) examples and case studies from your business. This makes the programme more relevant and can be applied more directly by delegates after the training.

Course Overview

Our Management Development Programme contains a range of modules. You can pick the modules you wish, to create a programme lasting between two and five days. The Modules are:

1:  Leadership and management:
Defining 'leader' and 'manager'; Working with others to create a plan for the future; Understanding facilitative and directive management - And when to use them; Motivation and support

2: Effective communication
Understanding the varied communication processes needed for different tasks; Understanding different communication style; understanding organisational culture

3: Innovation
Innovation and creativity; Assessing the need for innovation; Understanding organisational approach to innovation; Altshullers levels of innovation; Analysing ideas through creative discussion

4. Budgets and cost control
Explanation of common financial jargon; Understanding budgets and financial planning; What to include in a budget; Understanding cash flow, income profit and loss; Using excel

5. Agreeing each persons role
A fresh approach to staff management; Analysing tasks using Belbin's work roles; Competencies - how they can help and when to use them

6. Communicating with your team
How to be assertive, instead of passive or aggressive; Using assertive language in appropriate situations; Dealing with 'difficult behaviour

7. Working together successfully
Analyse strengths using Belbin's team roles, diagnose development stage of their team; Maintain communication within the team;Promote team development through strong leadership

8. Coaching
Understanding coaching; Effective listening and questioning; Empathy and understanding; Analysing a team member's problems

9. Delegation
When and how to delegates; Planning for delegates; Seven levels of delegation; The best approach to take when people are resistant to delegation; Monitor delegated task to spot and handle problems; Demonstrating personal commitment

Before the course

We will meet with you to discuss which modules are most important / relevant for your business, and to discuss your objectives in detail.

We also send our pre course questionnaires to all delegates attending our Management Development Programme. The responses are confidential - We use them (as much as possible) to make sure that the course meets the needs' of each delegate.

After the course

All delegates who have attended our Management Development Programme are entitled to six months free telephone and email support after the course.
